A broad summary of the neuroscience behind awareness and how integrating a mindfulness practice into work and home life is imperative for the safety, well-being and happiness of first responders. John, a retired 20 year Firefighter Paramedic, candidly shares his experience regarding depression, anger and alcohol abuse and how mediation and mindfulness saved his life so that he may help others identify and heal from the same spiraling patterns.

Participants will learn the basic concepts and varying methods of meditation and participate in a 20 minute meditation. Takeaways include how meditation helps reduce chronic stress, anxiety, insomnia and diminished well-being.
